About Me

Welcome!

I’m Sofía, a Computer Engineer and technology business leader based in Montevideo, Uruguay.
 

I hold a degree in Computer Engineering from the Facultad de Ingeniería at Universidad de la República, as well as a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Universidad de la República PEDECIBA, completed in May 2023. During my master’s research, I focused on data quality in Big Data, proposing a framework that compiles, adapts, categorizes, and formalizes more than 20 key tasks involved in executing a Data Profiling process on a Property Graph.
 

With over 13 years of experience in the IT industry, I currently serve as Chief Commercial Officer at WorkWithPlus, where I lead global commercial strategies at the intersection of technology, business scalability, and people empowerment. My professional journey, from technical support roles to executive leadership, has given me a 360 degree perspective on customer success, product value, and long term business growth.
 

Over the past 13 years at WorkWithPlus, I have worked closely with clients and partners across more than 35 countries. This experience has allowed me to collaborate with professionals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds and to translate complex technical solutions into meaningful, scalable business outcomes. I’m particularly interested in how emerging technologies such as Generative AI can help build smarter, more inclusive, and more efficient organizations.
 

I have always been passionate about multicultural environments and inclusive leadership. In 2024, I completed executive programs at MIT and ESADE, strengthening my perspective on leading diverse teams in global markets.
 

In 2025, I was selected as a participant in Santander’s SW50 program, an initiative that recognizes high potential women leaders in the business and technology ecosystem. I am also a Google Women Techmakers Ambassador and I am deeply committed to advancing gender equity and multicultural leadership in STEAM through mentoring, community involvement, and public speaking.
 

I’m a frequent speaker at industry and community events, where I share perspectives on technology, inclusive leadership, and the impact of diverse teams on organizations and global markets.

Beyond my professional work, I love to travel and explore new cultures with curiosity and intention. I’m also a proud AvGeek, always curious about aircraft, routes, and the stories behind them.
